Abstract

Sheikh Anwar Shah is one of the prominent Kashmiri writer, Muslim intellectual and traditionalist. His expertise in Linguistic especially in Qur’ānic commentary and its extraction was remarkable. His book; Mushkilāt ul-Qur’ān covers a wide fields of Qur’ānic Concepts, Hadīth, Arabic grammar, expurgation and linguistic interpretation. Sheikh Anwar Shah Kashmiri explained various concepts of Qur’ān in terms of expression and rhetoric. This Article reflects a comprehensive introduction of Sheikh Anwar Shah Kashmiri, his significant contribution in writing the meanings and concepts of Qur’ān in an impressive style. He has unique methodology and simplicity in his writings. His in depth explanation of Qur’ānic words and concepts bestowed him at the glory of destination. The Article provides useful information regarding legendry Islamic writers of Indian Subcontinent. In this article writer through lights on linguistic efforts of Anwar Shah in his book “Mushkilāt ul-Qur’ān”. Furthermore, this research also explores the method of Anwar Shah in the grammatical issues for understanding difficulties in Qur’ānic commentary.
