Worriment of Hereafter in Poetry of Sulṭān Bāhū; An Analytical Study

Sultān Bāhū (1039H-1102H) was a Punjabī mystic poet and scholar who brought religious change in the lives of people of Subcontinent. He awoke the people from deep sleep and created desire to play their role in shaping an ideal Muslim society. The question arises what the basic philosophy played its role to bring this change in the people of Subcontinent. The research has been conducted through studying the poetry of Sultān Bāhū and analyzed what were the main causes and strategy which changed the minds of the people and they concentrated to his poetry for guidance to provoke mystic teachings. The research explores that Sultān Bāhū presented goodwill of God by keeping in this world and worrying for hereafter. This article analyzes the poetry of Sultān Bāhū by conveying the message of Allah through examples of cosmology and gave clear concept of hereafter. He tried to create awareness that this world is not real purpose of life but it is only way to pass out and travel to the hereafter.
