Impact of British Colonialism on Traditional and Non-Traditional Political Thought of Muslims in Subcontinents: An analytical study in the light of Shah Waliullah’s Thoughsts

British Raj was established in India by the empowerment of East India Company in 1857. Great Britin governed until the separation of India in two independent states, Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Secular Indian state 1947. The article explors the influences of British Raj on Muslim Political thoughts, which was developed by the traditional and non-traditional scholars in Subcontient. Colonialism has drown the root impact on Muslim society. Under this atmosphere, scholarship got the need based diractionan to get rid of the Colonical system for freedom. This study analysis the classical political thoughts of Islam emphasizing with the teachings of Shah Waliullah (1762). Furthermore, in Subcontient few Muslim scholars followed his path to get freedom from British Raj. This study is objectively comments the difference between modern and classical political thoughts of Muslim scholarship in British India under the colonialism.
