Abstract

The prophet’s Sunna has been and still is the bright sun that lights our lives, it shows us what’s best for our life and the hereafter, surrounds us with its warmth, and feeds our hearts and nurtures them. Islam is the religion of moderation in everything, neither excessiveness nor negligence, and whenever we drift away from its teachings we plunge in the swamps of extremism and negligence. Therefore, with the following of these teaching, we can achieve the much-needed sustainability of our natural resources, from air and water to sunlight to crops etc. in order to prevent the depletion of the resources- that is often an indirect result of many individuals’ ignorance in religion. The natural resources are need of humanity which can be preserved to utilize them under the guidance of Allah Almighty.  Therefore, the problem of my research will be narrowed down to exploring how to learn from our Prophet- the teacher of civilization- the preservation and sustainability of our natural resources through a historical, retrospective and a deductive methodology, as well as an analytical explanatory one of the verses of the Qur’an.
