Abstract

Culture, within its general framework, embodies a collection of knowledge, principles, beliefs, and customs. Islamic culture encompasses all these qualities, representing an advantage it holds over other cultures globally. It is undeniable that Islamic identity is largely shaped by Islamic culture, referring here to faith, history, and language. Regarding faith, exemplified by the Noble Qurʼan, it stands firm as mountains, given its divine revelation untouched by alteration or distortion, preserved until the Day of Judgment. Concerning history, since the advent of his mission, peace, and blessings be upon him, Islamic history unfolds with moments of brilliance and periods of obscurity. The language of the Qurʼan unifies Muslims globally and is pivotal in comprehending Islamic teachings. Early Muslims who embraced Islam recognized Arabic as integral to their faith, being the language of the Quran and the Prophet. Subsequently, invaders and aggressors sought to undermine Arabic, both linguistically and culturally. This research paper elucidates how the Arabic language, as the language of the Qurʼan rather than a national language, serves as a primary factor and foundation in constructing and reviving Islamic culture. Without it, cultural affiliation to Islam wanes, weakens, and diminishes. Consequently, the proposed mechanisms aim to address contemporary challenges facing the Arabic language and Islamic culture, striving towards their elimination.
