Abstract

The great companion Abū Bakrah narrates on the authority of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: “Those people will not succeed if they have a woman in charge of them.” According to this hadith, the scholars of hadiths, jurists and others prevented a woman from assuming the supreme leadership and what goes on in her orbit. However, some contemporaries who were influenced by Orientalist studies raised many suspicions and misgivings about this hadith, including: that this hadith is weak and contradicts the Qur’ānic text, historical and contemporary reality. We have answered these suspicions that the hadith was narrated by Al-Bukhārī from the reliable and proven method, and it has many follow-ups and evidence, and there is no difference between it and the Qur’ānic text and reality.
