The Strategy of Using Artificial Intelligence in Modern Military Wars: A Foundational Study from the Prophetic

Abstract

Abstract: The world today is witnessing an unprecedented development in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in military warfare, where autonomous weapons, drones, and intelligent analytical systems have become integral parts of the battlefield. In light of this radical transformation, there arises a pressing need to contextualize and ground this reality within the ethical and legal principles derived from the Prophetic Sunnah.

The research problem is framed around the following questions: Does the Prophetic Sunnah provide a foundational framework that can regulate the use of AI in warfare? What are the ethical and legal principles that can be deduced from the Prophetic texts to address these modern combat technologies?

The researcher adopted the inductive-analytical method to extract the relevant principles and concepts from the Prophetic texts, alongside the comparative method to highlight the differences between Prophetic regulations and contemporary Western frameworks governing the ethics of intelligent warfare.

The study is structured into several sections. The first discusses the concept of military AI and its modern applications. It then proceeds to analyze Prophetic stances related to the use of force and technology, with an emphasis on the legal-ethical controls in managing warfare. The research also includes a comparison between Islamic and Western perspectives, culminating in the proposal of regulatory principles derived from the Sunnah.

Through this study, the researcher seeks to contribute to the development of an authentic Sharia-based perspective that addresses current technological challenges, enhances jurisprudential awareness in the field of modern warfare, and paves the way toward constructing
