Approach and Method of Kitāb ʻal-Shifā: an Analytical Study
Abstract
The Prophet (peace be upon him) is the source of light and guidance, through whom people are blessed to have the difference between good and evil, faith, knowledge, and wealth of true religion, until the Resurrection. Therefore, it is not possible to imagine any kind of welfare, happiness, real success, and salvation by disobeying, ignorance and Indifference to the Messenger of Allah. Given the importance of the rights of the Prophet (peace be upon him), since the early centuries, Muslim scholars and thinkers have written books on this topic under different titles and styles, such as books of Maghāzī, books of biography of the Prophet, books of arguments, signs of prophecy, books of miracles and books of morals and habits of the Prophet, etc. In these books, various aspects of the rights of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) have been discussed and reasoned in detail, but the fact is that the acceptance and fame of Qazi Ayaz's book al-Shifā Bi tʻarīf i Ḥuqūq e al Muṣtafā (peace be upon him), which is not received by any other book, and there is no exaggeration, but an acknowledgment of the fact; that no one has been able to write a book better than this in terms of relevance, comprehensiveness and scholarly literature. In this article, the introduction, approach, and method of Kitāb al Shifā and its author have been presented and analyzed with details.
